Is Tim a modern Uncle Tom?
Some of you may be familiar with the story of Uncle Tom.
Reverend Josiah Henson, who died in 1883, at the age of ninety-three, was "Uncle Tom". He was a slave who was permitted to travel freely between states on his master's business, because he had given a promise that he would not attempt to escape. He was a strong supporter of black happy servitude to whites. To some blacks and white alike the impression shared was that was he sold out his own race in return for minor favors. It was said that his master had planned to free him, but died suddenly. After his master's sudden death, Josiah was sold off to another owner.
Uncle Tom's Cabin is a story of both the cruelty of Slavery, the power of Love and Faith overcoming adversity. The story of Uncle Tom's Cabin helped the abolitionist movement and in the Nation's perspective on Slavery. A novel by famous abolitionist Harriet Beecher Stowe was completed in Boston in 1852.
The fact that Uncle Tom did his master's bidding, supported his master's philosophy in such a way as to lower himself, his family and his race based on self deprecating racism, only to be cheated in the end, has led to the modern term "Uncle Tom" to refer to a black person who is allowing himself to be used and disgraced by white society.
Some of you may be familiar with the “anti-race” speaker and writer Tom Wise.
Tim has written many books, training teachers and government officials of way to “uproot American institutional racism”. A well known specialist on diversity and inclusion efforts in corporate America as well since the 1990’s to date. He is also known for his anti-apartheid work in Africa.
Some of Tim’s speeches have been captured on you-tube. His rhetoric on white privilege is so ridiculous and full of factual and contextual exclusions I only shared a web link.

Question is whether Tim can be compared with Uncle Tom?
Some see Tim well aligned with democrats –especially Obama - in his personal crusade to lessen and subvert his own race. Others see him simply being a “carpet bagger” by taking advantage of a business opportunity -courtesy of the liberals- making big money and notoriety for himself and insiders by the movement of national, educational and corporate policy.
Some feel that this guy has caused huge damage. His overt (anti-white male) racism philosophy has indeed caught on in the classroom and in corporate America. By the way, for those of you following the offshore oil spill and those that remember the Texas City refinery disaster, an interesting note might be about BP being the strongest proponent of Tim Wise’s diversity work in the oil industry. (Maybe if BP had not been so busy promoting minorities and gays and being politically correct in the past and instead spent more time on promoting quality work by qualified staff then these disasters may not have happened)

Think about college scholarships. I just visited a high school graduation where magna cum laude student that is highly ranked in tennis and other extracurricular activities got in to state college but with NO scholarships. All the engineering scholarships applied for went to minority students…One of the lower ranking middle eastern students in his school is going to the same college in the same petroleum engineering planned major with a scholarship….
Hmm.. So I guess it is his middle class income white father’s fault for not being Muslim, or is it just skin color?
hahaha, I got one for you, look at commercials at night and see how sooo many have black actors, then go to the mall and walk into those same jewelry stores ect and you will never witness a black customer, Now wouldn't you want to spend your advertising dollars on the segment of society that will spend money with you? This father’s day weekend included an awkward conversation for me.
During a discussion about some of the local discrimination outrageous at the local Walmart and IT’z (http://www.itzusa.com/ ), an elderly relative mentioned (again) how it is “our turn “ to suffer and be discriminated against.
My concern here is that she and perhaps thousands of other one time normal American’s really believe the anti-white racist propaganda that Tim Wise and other modern day uncle tom’s try and sell. This lady did have her childhood in the 1940-1960’s era and did see real old fashioned racism at that time – to be sure. Trouble is that instead of learning from those mistakes and moving on and up, she and others believe that a full blown “get to the back of the bus for whites approach” now considered PC is both “ok” and deserved.
Sad, yet this exists at walmart and Itz in NW Houston Texas, where commonplace discrimination by staff (typically black) against whites ( typical middle+ income) is so bad that few middle to above income class whites will go anymore. Apparently Walmart is a partial exception as many housewives mention going early in the morning is ok or allowed, but forget about middle of the day or late afternoon.
Guys – unfortunately- every word shared above is true and accurate as of June 2010 and is primarily the fault and failure of liberal democrats.

The government now controls 60% of the economy under the leadership of Pelosi, Reid and President Obama.The take over of the student loan programs will discriminate against students of color and origin. Let’s not forget the connections with Wall street and George Soros groups.
Are you writing or referring to President Barak Obama? Sometimes it appears that a '' carpet bagger'' fits his description.Barak Obama has made a mockery of the office of the President of the United States.

This hub focused on liberal, racist commentators / celebrities such as Tim Wise. However, yes I agree that BO and his team can be seen to fit this pattern and in a bigger picture way.

Good hub here. Very interesting info you presented. I am all too aware of the place to which whites and white males are being shoved. The crazy rhetoric from those on the left and their unfounded cries of racism only serve to damage any ACTUAL charges of racism that may be made in the future. To them, if we don't embrace and adulate THEIR messiah--BHO--of course it MUST be because of our racist tendencies! I have also been fascinated with their journalistic double standard. If Bush had been yukking it up at a WH party a month after Katrina, they lib media would have had a stroke!! However, it is just fine for mr wonderful to host Mccartnesy and have a jolly old time while the folks in the gulf are DYING!! It is enough to make me sick!
